Snowmobile Entertainment & Information

From the Garage - Introduction

Hello and Welcome to the Garage!

My name is Steve Adams, the new Tech Editor for SledAddicts.com,  and I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  I am a resident of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland Canada.  I love snowmobiles, riding, wrenching, washing, looking at, whatever, I just love them.

My season was cut short this year with one sled going down the crapper after a little mishap with my 99 zr700.  So, I was on the hunt for a new sled.

I picked up a 2005 rev 500 ss and I'm in love with sledding all over again.  I got the sled with about 1 month of good riding left and managed, between work, parenting, minor hockey and other things to put on  500 kms.  As soon as I rode the Rev, I realized that there had to be some changes to it.  It definitely  needed new shocks, as well as some extra HP.  We all know you can never have to much of that.

SledAddicts.com will be using my Rev to show you what can be done to make your sled the best it can be for trail riding, boondocking or whatever.  However, before we dive right in I plan on doing a little series of general articles regarding winterizing, summerizing and general upkeep of your sleds.  This applies to all types of sleds, not just high performance sleds.  So all of you out there who like dodging along the trail with your significant other, should take the time to read my articles as well.

Little things like suspension setup, carburetor settings, and other things will help you get the most out of your snowmobile.  Another big thing is your trail bag, anyone who rides without one is asking for trouble.  You never know when something is going to happen and your first aid kit is back cooling down with the after ride “refreshments”.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the rants from the garage, you might learn something, maybe not, but at least it will be entertaining, and that’s what its all about.  Next time will be how to summerize your sled so its in top shape for next season.

keep the rubber side down!
