After having an opportunity to digest the info on the new 2010 Yamaha's I'll have to admit being wrong on my prediction of the introduction o power assisted steering on a snowmobile.
Yes I am surprised there wasn't a new high performance model replacing the Apex, but given that Yamaha released their 2010 Nytro XTX a year ahead of schedule in 2009, Yamaha fans got their new model early so to speak.
What's new for Yamaha ... no new models and alot of refinement. [More]

Polaris has certainly created a rush of discussion with the introduction of it's new 600 based big bump sled.
One of the most interesting features of the new Rush is the "Rider-Active Control" which allows the rider to use weight to affect the sleds handling. The new suspension design and dirtbike rider position play a key part in utilizing the riders weight transfer to play a bigger role in the control of the Rush and this results in a superior riding experience. Of course we're hardly into 2009 and theres already a few rumours floating around the forums hinting at 2010 snowmobile info. Although, it's still too early for any of the photo leaks and stories to dribble in from out near the OEM test areas. I'd speculate you'll see power Assisted steering coming soon from one Manufacturer, and possibly new supercharged 4 stroke model from another. [More]
